grandparents' Booster club
The Grandparents’ Booster Club for Reading has certainly carried us "Up, Up and Away with Reading." The Booster Club has provided our students with over 100 new books that are being checked out through the library. Thank you, Grandparents, for your generosity to your grandchildren and all of Winton's students. Through your donations the Library program continues to offer exciting, current fiction and non-fiction choices.

Box Tops for Books
Thank you Winton families and friends. We've had great success in boxtops this year, collecting close to 16,000 boxtops which means more great books for the library.
New collection forms are sent home the first of each month-- and if you need more, they are available in the library. Of course, box tops can be sent in a ziploc baggie too -- just be sure to include the student's name, class and number of box tops that are in the bag. Kids receive a small prize for bringing in a completed sheet.
Turning trash into treasures -- Box Tops really make a difference!
About our library
Winton students visit the library on a weekly visit with their class. This is a great time for them to explore the library and check out books. There are also many times throughout the week that the library is accessible. Winton library has almost 9700 books which allows many choices, and we are continually adding new books to the library.
This is our 13th year using the Accelerated Reader (AR) program. The AR program is a recreational reading program that makes the task of students finding books in a comfortable reading level an easy one. Once the student reads the book, they can then take a computer quiz on the book. The students really seem to like the ease of finding a book, and then doing a quiz on the computer.
A Scholastic Book Fair is held in the library in December. It’s a great time to finish up a little holiday shopping!
Please feel free to visit the library. Or better yet, ask your child for a tour.
"Kids who read, succeed!"
