2nd Grade

Welcome to 2nd Grade!

We are a community of learners.whostrive to uphold each other's right to learn, to be heard, to be safe, and to be treated with kindness.

Reading is our main focus this year. We have guided reading groups and silent reading daily. Our math program consists of  primairly of the Scott Foresman math  program and fact memorization. We will aso learn to add and subtract with regrouping.  During writing time we will be learning to write a pragraph, use periods, question marks and other punctuation properly. Some things we hope to study this year are National  symbols,  mapping skills, continents, animals groups  and  their habitats, matter,  and  weather.

We do quality work and have fun in second grade!

  • Please watch for information regarding upcoming field trips in your child’s Thursday folder.
  • If you have not already paid for or sent back your child’s black & white portrait please do so ASAP!

In January of 2011, Idaho became one of forty-seven states and U.S. territories to adopt the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Over the next few years, you will notice some changes to instruction and testing in our schools that will directly impact your child. It is essential that you know about these changes and what resources are available to help you support your child.
